It’s good to be Madonna‘s daughter, and not just because you can launch a teen clothing line with her at Macy’s known as Material Girl. Madge has reportedly “hired” her 15-year-old daughter as a backup dancer on her upcoming world tour in support of ‘MDNA,’ which launches at the end of May.

Lourdes will accompany her mother on a 50-country world tour. Is that nepotism? Not really, since it’s Madge’s tour and she’ll do whatever the hell she wants. Judging from the fact that Mom-donna (or is that Ma-donna?) mercilessly proofreads Lourdes’ blogs, she isn’t giving her offspring a free ride or any special treatment. In fact, she’ll probably come down on her even harder than other dancers on the tour.

According to The Daily Mail, a source said, “It is the first time Lourdes will have appeared on stage with her mum. There are risqué dancers and some blatantly sexual dance routines – but Madonna is really excited about Lourdes making an appearance.”

Come on, it’s not like Lourdes has been shielded from her mother’s sexed up past. There’s this thing called the Internet where she could have done her research and seen how her mother clawed her way to the top, based on her sexualized style. Madge isn’t the apologize-for-my-past type, either, so it’s not a case of “bad” parenting. Lourdes is growing up and this is a great chance for her to do her thang.

Will there be some mother-daughter competition? Who knows!

Kyle played Agent Dale Cooper who comes to town to figure out who killed the town’s perfect girl-next-door, Laura Palmer.  It was strange and twisted, and before it was all over, one of the oddest head-trip tv series ever made.  But it had Kyle MacLachlan in it, so I watched every minute!

In this scene, Agent Cooper waxes rhapsodic about coffee, eggs, and at the last moment, freshly squeezed grapefruits – at least, that’s what he started out thinking about!

COULD BE TRUE COULD BE CRAP – JAY-Z ‘UPSET’ ABOUT CHRIS BROWN AND RIHANNA’S COLLABOS: Rumor has it JAY-Z is very upset that CHRIS BROWN and RIHANN collaborated on a couple of songs, which were released Monday. The rarely-if-ever reliable Mediatakeout gossip site is reporting that Jay-Z was so upset he flew to Los Angeles yesterday to have a discussion with his record company partners who supposedly helped Rihanna and Chris get their collaborations done — even though Jay-Z was “100% against it.”

And Jay-Z isn’t the only one who feels that way. According to an ‘Us Weekly’ poll, 79% of readers say Ri-ri’s collaboration with Brown was a bad idea.

The two-hour show concluded with an all-star finale of “Sweet Home Chicago,” which, at the urging of Buddy Guy, featured President Obama joining in at the end. Buddy told the president, “I heard you singing Al Green [a couple of weeks ago]. The 23rd season of ‘The Simpsons’ will go out with a bang, as that’s when the episode featuring Lady Gaga will air.

Gaga taped her ep late last summer and just like ‘SNL’ last May, she will appear on a season finale of a long-running comedy show. ‘The Simpsons’ remains the longest airing scripted show on prime time TV, while ‘SNL’ has been airing since 1975, so Gaga has a penchant for appearing on some of the most beloved shows on the small screen.

The Mother Monster’s episode is called ‘Lisa Goes Gaga’ and Gaga factors into the plot as someone who comes to Springfield in order to cheer up little Lisa, who is often the voice of reason on the show.

The Telegraph reports that Gaga has mused about her role on the show, saying, “I play a little bit of a slut. The apple doesn’t fall far from my artistic tree.”

Uh oh. Is Gaga going to be a bad influence on the sweet and wholesome Lisa Simpson? Will she teach her how to dance? Will she whip Bart into shape? Will she give Marge hair tips? Will she eat donuts with Homer? The possibilities are endless.

Mariah Carey, who looks as stunning as ever, appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ to talk about heart health month, Dem Babies, new music and of course, the loss of fellow diva Whitney Houston and her recently hospitalized husband Nick Cannon. Carey and Cannon had a serious scare when he went into mild kidney failure in January.

Carey was quite candid during her chat with Robin Roberts, speaking from the heart about the late, great Houston, who passed at 48 just over a week ago.

“It was great and I don’t think people could ever understand our relationship,” Carey mused. “There was this supposed rivalry in the beginning, then we did the duet and became friends. I loved her.”

It’s been a rocky month for people in Carey’s life. Roc and Roe’s mother also spoke about Cannon’s health scare, saying, “We didn’t know how big a deal it was at that moment” about Cannon’s first stay in the hospital. Then things got worse. She admitted, “It was a gradual thing. We ended up in a couple hospitals this year already.”

Carey voiced her support for Cannon, who quit his morning drive radio show last week, since he was working way too hard and neglecting his health. She said, “The best thing I think was the choice that he made to leave the radio show and just focus on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘Up All Night.’ The thing is, he’s a young healthy person. It’s about changing the lifestyle and just an awareness of what can really happen to you no matter how young or in great shape you are.”

Cannon’s missus did express that she believes he will make a glass of lemonade out of this lemon, saying, “I think, like he always does, he’s going to turn something that happened into a positive thing.”

That’s great news.

TMZ is reporting that the singer’s family struck a deal to sell video of Saturday’s star-studded funeral. According to a family rep, they are charging “customary fees,” in order to “help maximize the estate for the benefit of Bobbi Kristina.”

Family members aren’t the only ones cashing in on the star’s death.Associated Press reports that a dress from Whitney’s private collection and a pair of earrings she wore in ‘The Bodyguard’ movie will go up for grabs. Her floor-length black dress is valued at $1,000, but likely to collect much more at auction. Bidding on the faux-pearl earrings will start at $600.

One thing that will never be put up for auction is memorabilia from the room at the Beverly Hilton where Whitney died. TMZ reports that the singer’s family stripped the hotel room of anything that wasn’t bolted down, including bed sheets, towels, and every bit of trash, so looters wouldn’t be able to get their hands on anything to sell to the highest bidder. The items have reportedly been disposed of.

RELATIONSHIP REPORT – JESSICA BIEL WEARING ENGAGEMENT RING:  JESSICA BIEL and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE seem to be finally going public with their engagement. After Hurricane Katrina devastated the Atlantic Coast in 2005, New Orleans, and the region as a whole, gained more prominence in the national and international news, and rightly so.

Although the folks living there have been through a great deal recently, their spirit still shines through. Nowhere is that more evident than in the riotous party known as Mardi Gras.

The origins of Mardi Gras stretch way back into time, thousands of year before the advent of Christianity. It was a wild festival in honor of fertility and the arrival of spring. As Christian emperors began to rule in Rome, the celebrations were integrated into the new faith. ‘Carnival’ became one last crazy party before the austerities of Lent, when people had to give up some, if not all, of the vices they so cherished.

The French were the first European settlers of New Orleans. They brought with them the tradition of carnival, and held Mardi Gras on the North American continent as early as 1699. When the Spanish took over the region later, they promptly outlawed the parties. The festivities were only reinstated after Louisiana was acquired by the United States in 1812.

Many of the costumes and ideas of Mardi Gras come from traditional Catholic carnivals celebrated all over the world, plus a few innovations unique to New Orleans. The krewes, or organizations that host balls and parades as part of the celebrations, were first created in the American South — Southern culture at its finest. The music, marching bands, beads, King Cake and colorful floats evolved over time, making Mardi Gras the grand party that it is today.
