The City of El Paso will be hosting a free Mexican Independence Day Celebration Saturday, September 16, at San Jacinto Plaza in downtown El Paso.

The day will include live entertainment by Mariachi Cuauhtemoc, La Mastrigal Sonora, and various Folklorico dance groups.

A children's fun zone and several local food trucks will be part of the mix as well, according to a post on the city Facebook page.

The celebration begins at 5:00 p.m. and runs until midnight. Admission, entertainment and activities are free.
