The public is invited to the free Mexican Independence Day Celebration at San Jacinto Plaza on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to a free Mexican Independence Day Celebration at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, at San Jacinto Plaza.

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the family friendly event which will include the Mexican Consul Marcos Bucio Mujica who will lead the traditional ‘Grito’ around 10:15 p.m. along with El Paso Mayor Dee Margo.

The evening will include plenty of entertainment including folklorico dancers, mariachis, arts and crafts, a kid’s zone, food trucks and a Juan Gabriel impersonator with Hugo Cortes.

The event is free and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities and the evening at San Jacinto Plaza.
