"Professional wrestling is returning to the Bronco for the first time in 40 years. Nation of Wrestling, a veteran-owned El Paso professional wrestling promotion and training academy owned by Frank Stone and Queens, will bring the G-Drive Tournament inside the Bronco Ballroom on Saturday, September 19.

According to the Sandoval family, owners of the Bronco, the property began as a drive-in theater. As development grew around the property - before the Swap Meet became its primary focus - the family patriarch welcomed wrestling promotions to hold matches at the Bronco. Over time, the Swap Meet became the focus and wrestling faded from the property. Four decades later, a new generation will see the ring return to the Bronco.

FROM ONE GENERATION TO THE NEXT

For Ashlee Candelaria, the idea also has a personal Lower Valley connection. Candelaria works with Nation of Wrestling in marketing, PR and community partnerships through Moxie Creative Co. Growing up, Sundays at the Bronco
with her grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles were a family staple. Bringing NOW to the Bronco is about reconnecting with that feeling while giving today's families a chance to create memories of their own."

The Nation of Wrestling have been one of El Paso's hardest working and most prominent professional wrestling organizations. Not only offering spaces for new talent to learn, but with many members of NOW also being members of other highly regarded professional wrestling groups. Nation of Wrestling is pushing the boundaries of local wrestling events, teaming up with local organizations, and now they're bringing Luchadores back to a once iconic spot for local wrestlers.
