Why Do Mexicans Make Carne Asada on Sundays?!

For as long as I can remember, Sunday's have been the day where my family gathers to eat a meal together. We turn on some music and fire up the grill so that my tio's could get the carne asada (which was always the go to) going. My mom and aunts, inside, preparing the guacamole and the cebollitas. It was always a great time. But my question was always the same; why do we do that on SUNDAY when we all know damn well we have to go to work and school the next day?!

It wasn't until recently that I found out that we're not the only crazy family that does this on a Sunday! A few friends of mine that I went to college with also had carne asadas on Sundays. It was then that I knew I wasn't alone on Monday mornings when I would show up to school or work sleepy and dying of heartburn. With this confirmation, I know there's plenty of you out there who recognize the smell of a grill on Sunday afternoon and get nostalgic.

I guess that Sunday tradition won't die anytime soon for me because this year, you can join me and my second family (KLAQ) at the KLAQ BBQ at Wet N' Wild Water World!
