UTEP celebrated the 50th anniversary of the historic 1966 Texas Western Miners championship season on Saturday. The notable moment in sports history was marked by numerous video tributes, including the one above from President Barack Obama.

The '66 Miners were the first team to ever win an NCAA basketball national championship with an all-black starting line-up. The victory is largely credited with ending segregation in athletics at universities across the South.
