The El Paso Child Guidance Center, a local nonprofit organization, will hold on online Wine and Wellness fundraiser on Thursday, November 12.  This event will raise funds that will be used to provide local families access to mental healthcare services.

El Paso Electric is sponsoring this week’s event that will combine a silent auction with several breakout sessions providing valuable information on a variety of topics aimed at helping people keep things together at a time in which people are struggling to keep physically and emotionally healthy.  Among the various items that are available for bidding are a Fig+Brie charcuterie board and two bottles of wine.

Once registered, attendees will select one of the following breakout sessions to attend.

  • Take-Five: Five-Minute Stress Busters
  • Slow Your Role: A Guide to Mindfulness
  • Get Centered: Guided Meditation
  • Be Nice to Yourself: Practicing Self-Compassion
  • Get Moving: An Intro to Body-Based Therapy

Since the pandemic hit in March of 2020, the focus has overwhelmingly been on the measures needed to keep people and those around them physically safe.  I’m not trying to insinuate that mask wearing and social distancing (and other measures) should be ignored.  Those recommendation have been put in place because they help.  But, just as important is a person’s physical health, is their mental wellbeing and this event can be a great way to raise awareness and funds meant for those services.

Proceeds raised from the Wine and Wellness event will benefit the El Paso Child Guidance Center.  The deadline to RSVP is November 10.
