Van Halen is coming to the Don Haskins center on Sept 11th. The group Van Halen, formed in 1972, originally called themselves "Genesis", but after being made aware by friends that there was already a band named Genesis in England that had been around since 1967, Eddie Van Halen joked, "We've been in the garage all day practicing, we don't get out much..!!" It was David Lee Roth who later suggested the name change to Van Halen.
