Whataburger fans love collecting the fast food company's merchandise, but sometimes this can lead to shortages at the restaurant and online. If you head to the Whataburger website, you can learn about the menu, the various Whataburger locations across the country, and check out the Whatastore. The store has almost everything and anything that has to do with the orange and white fast food giant. You can purchase plenty of licensed Whataburger items, including the famous Whataburger table tents.

On the website you can purchase table tents for graduation, birthdays, weddings, and more, but not the normal numbers seen inside Whataburger locations. That's why so many people decide to talk their Whataburger tents when they leave the restaurant. While it may seem innocent enough, taking these table tents can cost the company significantly in the long run.

In 2019, Whataburger's CEO told Texas Monthly it cost the company over $200,000 a year to replace all the stolen Whataburger tents. While locations are waiting for those replacement tents to come in, they could be left with very few and in some extreme cases no tents for customers.

A Whataburger customer in the Whataburger Fanatics Facebook group posted a photo showing just what happens when your local Whataburger runs out of table tents. Facebook user Randy Lane posted two photos showing his local Whataburger location using paper cone water cups, and he blamed the table tent thefts for the change:

"I hope you heathens are happy!"

No word on how long Lane's local Whataburger was going to be stuck with the paper cones instead of table tents but hopefully they'll watch customers a little closer to make sure they don't get all of their Whataburger table tents stolen.
