The NY Yankees Send Their Condolences to Deputy Herrera’s Family

As the news coverage about the funeral services for beloved El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Peter Herrera continues to be shared, one post really caught my eye. El Pasoans have been showing their love and appreciation for the fallen deputy and so are the New York Yankees.

A former classmate of mine named Amy shared a post showcasing flowers that were set up during the funeral arrangements at Deputy Herrera's services. The pictures included a beautiful arrangement of lilies, white roses and a message from the New York Yankees.

The photos were taken by Alexis Vera and shared by many who were just as surprised as I was to see the New York Yankees organization paying their respects to Herrera's family and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. The El Paso area has come together to celebrate the life Herrera lived and the great job he did to protect El Pasoans. Our deepest sympathies go out to Deputy Herrera's family and to everyone who has been affected by this incredibly sad loss to our community.
