A group of El Paso, TX elementary school students were surprised with some new sports gear all thanks to one El Paso teen who is making a name for himself in the sports world!

Coronado High School student Lane Frank is the teen brains behind the Schoolyard Sports podcast where he speaks to sports legends, keeps followers updated on sports  events and of course highlights local high school sports as well.

Lane made a stop at Lamar Elementary School with a special surprise for all the students! He donated brand-new footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls to students.

"I'm very passionate about sports," Lane said in an interview to KFOX. "And I know a lot of underserved kids here in El Paso don’t have access to new equipment." So, instead of just talking about sports, Lane became the MVP by giving back.

And why did Lane choose Lamar Elementary? Well, it was for a very special reason: his great-grandmother was once a nurse there.

Watching the kids light up as they got their new gear made Lane happy and at the end of the day those smiles are what it’s all about.

"You give them their balls and they go back and they're playing with them. I love to see it."

Lane’s already planning his next drop at other schools. Now that’s what we call sportsmanship with heart.
