Creative Fans Imagine What A GTA Texas Game Could Look Like
New York, Miami, & Los Angeles are cities that have been used in the hit series by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto. While we wait on where the next Grand Theft Auto game will be set in, some fans have decided to make their own fan art on custom GTA maps & even add mods to the older games. We've seen people do this for El Paso, but some fans have decided to include the entire state of Texas.
Let's see some "GTA Texas" maps
Anyone who's played the games know the games are set in fictional cities based on REAL cities. Example: Liberty City is New York, Vice City is Miami & Los Santos is Los Angeles.
One Reddit user, gyvague, posted his fan art on what GTA VI would like if it took place in Southeast Texas; the fictional cities called Lawston & Seaweston. Which according to gvyvague are based on Houston & Galveston, respectively.
That's not the only Reddit user with GTA Texas fan art
Sharp_Mountain_849 posted his own fan art too, this time it looks to incorporate the entire state. He titled the map: Grand Theft Auto New Austin
If GTA 6 took place in Texas by u/Sharp_Mountain_849 in GTA6
Based on the map, you can see what cities he added into the map he created & the real life cities resembled: (Some of the cities might be wrong)
- Arstone (Amarillo)
- San Tony (San Antonio)
- El Camino (El Paso)
- Astro City (Houston)
- Metor City (Austin)
- Prairie City (Dallas/Ft Worth)
- Sean Bay (most likely Corpus Cristi)
- Austikarna (Texarkana)
- Temor (possibly Lubbock)
- Key Town (possibly Abilene)
- He would also include Galveston as Sea Weston too
Fans have even made their own Texas mods into existing games
With the huge popularity in Grand Theft Auto V, PC gamers have transformed the city in the game, Los Santos (based on Los Angeles), into their own Texas playground. YouTubers like SteveTheGamer55, have made videos while playing the role of a Texas State Trooper. And yes he even drives the cars look like real Texas police cars.
GMAntonz also made videos roleplaying a Texas DPS officer on YouTuber as well.
This shows that some fans really want a GTA game set in Texas. Will we see one be made? Hopefully we will. I'd love to see some of those custom maps & mods be turned into the real thing.
