'SNL' NAME CHECKS EL PASO - OPENS SHOW WITH PARODY OF HIS VISIT: "Saturday Night Live" didn't just mention El Paso this weekend, the NBC show opened with a five minute skit that lampooned President Obama's recent visit to the Sun City.

A week ago, we had a crappy economy, a President who looked like a one-termer, and what appeared to be a waning influence in the world. Then President Barak Obama sent in SEAL Team Six and blasted Osama bin Laden off the face of the earth.

Man Who Pledged Not To Shave Until Bin Laden Caught Finally Got To Shave ... Gary Weddle -- a science teacher at Ephrata Middle School in Ephrata, Washington -- vowed to his students on September 11th, 2001 that he would never shave his face again until OSAMA BIN LADEN was caught. And true to his word, he kept his vow.

STOP ME IF YOU'VE HEARD THIS ONE: It didn't take long after the news of Osama bin Laden's death broke before the late night t.v. guys and morning d.j's like yours truly, Mike Martinez, were letting the jokes fly.  Here's my contribution:

You gotta admit, we were pretty smug on September 10th, 2001.  The economy was strong, all the Y2k nonsense had settled down, we thought the whole world wanted to be us.  On September 11th, we found out how wrong we were.

Checking CNN.com and this story appears at a little after 9pm: A senior U.S. official tells CNN Osama bin Laden was killed by the U.S. forces in a mansion outside the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. President Obama will address the nation regarding bin Laden's death.
