Cue the happy tears, graduation caps, and endless photos because graduation season has officially arrived in El Paso!

Over the next few weeks, thousands of students from El Paso-area high schools will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas and while families are busy planning celebrations, parents are being reminded to double-check ceremony dates, times, and venue rules before heading out.

Many of this year's graduation ceremonies will be held at the Don Haskins Center on the UTEP campus. School officials are urging attendees to familiarize themselves with the venue's clear bag policy and prohibited items list to avoid delays or being denied entry.

CLEAR BAG POLICY DETAILS:

I’m going to start with the big one. Purses or bags. I say this is a big one because it never seems to fail that I see someone getting denied access to enter the venue because they were not aware of the clear bag policy.

Clear bags are allowed in the venue and so are small purses, but they must be a certain size.

If you take a big purse that is not clear, you will not be permitted to enter the venue at all.
