Stargazers Will Love This Storytelling Train Ride in New Mexico
There is a fun ride totally worth a short road trip to New Mexico.
This ride was made for those who spend their nights getting lost in the star-covered sky.
Now, I have enjoyed movies that tell a story on a train such as Polar Express and Murder On the Orient Express.
Sometimes these train tales had me and my kids wishing we could enjoy something similar to that, minus the murder, of course.
This kind of train ride consists of storytelling while you are riding along and traveling to Galisteo Basin Preserve.
That is where you will be able to admire the magnificent New Mexico night sky full of stars.
Although I have never been on the Sky Railway I have been on the Amtrak which is still a neat option for traveling.
So by taking a ride on the train you will hear stories from Native American storytellers viewing the evening sky. You will be able to view the sky in the open-air car hearing stories of the stars, planets, and more.
The Star Gazer Express is the adventure you want to ride before the kid's summer vacation comes to an end. If you can't make it out to New Mexico, El Paso has movies under the stars and some nighttime activities that can still give you a starry night adventure.
If you're wanting something fun, educational, and with a little serenade your New Mexico adventure awaits. You can check out some of the photos from the adventures on the train by scrolling below.
The ride is estimated to be about 3 and a half to 4 hours long from Santa Fe to Lamy, New Mexico. So that means you get to sit back and relax while you learn more about the night sky.
Children 2 and under are free and are allowed to sit on your lap on the ride. The next available ride will be next month on July 22 and July 29.
