Get ready to get your spice on at the 51st Annual Hatch Valley Chile Festival this Labor Day Weekend.

Event details have been released for the annual event that provides locals with the chance to enjoy music and family entertainment in the village of Hatch, New Mexico.

This year’s festival is set to take place during the weekend of September 2nd and 3rd at the Hatch Valley High School Pecan Orchard which is located at 170 E Herrera St. in Hatch, NM.

This year’s festival will include various food and local craft vendors for families and guests to enjoy as well as a train ride and bouncy house for the kids and a mechanical bull for the big kids!

Saturday’s events include the following:

  • Parade at 9 a.m. at Franklin & Hall St.
  • Opening Ceremonies at 11 a.m.
  • Chile River Band at noon.
  • Watermelon & Chile Eating Contest at 2 p.m.
  • Chile Queen Auction at 3 p.m.
  • Mariachi at 4 p.m.
  • Chile River Band at 5 p.m.

Special Guests: Jamie O’Hara Performer and Musician

Sunday’s Events Include the following:

  • Folkorico at noon.
  • Watermelon & Chile Eating Contest at 1 p.m.
  • The music begins at 2 p.m.
