Southwest University Park’s 2023 Menu Will Make Your Mouth Water

The weather is slowly getting warmer…. Ok, if you ignore Thursday’s snowstorm and fast forward to the weekend then that statement is correct.

Anyways, my point was that when the weather gets warmer that means it’s time for baseball and soccer season at Southwest University Park.

The first home game for the El Paso Locomotives is set to happen on Saturday, March 11. El Paso Chihuahuas opening day game will happen on Friday, March 31st, and if you’re curious what will be on the menu this year, you’re in luck because I did some investigative reporting to get you that answer.

This past Wednesday night local media was invited to a media tasting night to try out some of the delicious items that will be on the menu for the season.

It’s safe to say that my deep investigative reporting paid off this time around because I tried all of the items on the menu (well, almost all of them) and I regret nothing!

El Pasoan Maria Barragan Hurtado is the Executive Chef at Southwest University Park and she made sure to use her love for El Paso to create some of the dishes that will be available for both the Chihuahuas and Locomotive games.

From hot dogs, to burgers, to smothered fries, and some mouth watering desserts this menu will not disappoint you.

Southwest University Park’s Executive Chef Maria Barragan Hurtado incorporated El Paso’s culture in each dish and it is instantly visible when you see these beautiful creations and even more so when you taste them!!

Stay tuned because Chef Maria will be bringing some new creations mid-season to help change things up a bit and to give the fans the best experience this 2023 season.
