Social Media Reacts to New Basketball Court Inside Haskins Center
Earlier this summer, UTEP athletics announced that the Don Haskins Center court would receive a redesign prior to the basketball season. This past week, the athletic department unveiled the brand new floor that features the signature Franklin Mountains and the star on the mountain.
The new court was finished in almost three months since the announcement. Check out the timelapse that was posted, which highlights the entire construction process.
Besides the eye-catching Franklin Mountains and star, the court includes more Miner additions that fans will get a chance to check out this year. On the top left of the court, legendary coach Don Haskins' signature is placed along the out-of-bounds area. On the opposite side of Haskins' signature, the phrase "Glory Road" is placed on the court to honor the 1966 Texas Western National Championship team.
The new redesign was made possible thanks to a $100,000 donation from the Cardwell Family, as announced by UTEP on May 11.
Upon the release of the new court, many took to social media to voice their thoughts on the new look.
