Foreigner Wants an El Paso School Choir to Join Them Onstage
Imagine being a teen in middle school or high school and you’re asked to jump on stage with one of the most iconic rock bands ever!
Well, back in 2024 that happened for one Las Cruces middle school, and now it’s El Paso’s turn to join Foreigner on stage as they bring their tour to El Paso this October!
Foreigner is inviting one local junior high or high school choir to join the band on stage and perform its classic hit “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

Calling all El Paso Choir Directors and students!
Yup! We’re calling out to all El Paso junior high and high school choir directors because your students could have the opportunity of a lifetime: singing on stage with Foreigner during the band’s upcoming El Paso concert happening at the Abraham Chavez Theatre on October 16.
The winning choir can include up to 25 students, although groups with fewer than 25 singers are welcome to participate. The choir will also be accompanied by two adult chaperones during the performance.
And there’s more! Foreigner will donate $500 to the winning school’s choir program to help support its students and music education efforts.

Here’s How El Paso Schools Can Enter To Sing With Foreigner
This opportunity is open to junior high and high school choirs in the El Paso area. To enter, schools simply need to submit:
- A quick video of their students singing the Foreigner song, “I Want to Know What Love Is.” The song can be a short snippet or a full-length performance.
- A short statement of 250 words or less explaining why their school choir should be selected and what winning the $500 donation would mean for their choir program.
The video does not have to be a professional production. This is about showcasing your students, their voices and their love of music! GET CREATIVE!!! The more creative, the better!!
Schools must submit their entry by midnight on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

How Will El Paso Choirs Be Chosen?
Iris & Grizz will have the tough job of choosing the El Paso choir that will perform with Foreigner! We will accept submissions through the online form until Wednesday, September 30th.
We will be looking for groups that can get creative or make Iris cry!! (Which should be easy because she cries over everything!!)
We will go through every submitted video and written portion and choose a top 3! Iris will choose her pick, Grizz will choose his, and Mia “The Intern” will choose her pick!
From there we will post all three audio submissions on social media and have the people of El Paso vote for who they think should join Foreigner LIVE on stage!!
The final winner will be announced the first week of October.

Foreigner Continues A Tradition That Showcases The Power of Music Education
Foreigner has been bringing local school choirs on stage at its North American concerts for 19 years and counting, making this a special tradition that gives young singers the chance to perform alongside a legendary rock band.
Not only is this an opportunity of a lifetime!! It's an opportunity for students to build confidence, create an unforgettable memory and show the community the power of music education!!
So, El Paso choir directors: Grab your phones, record your choir and get your entry submitted before the September 30 deadline!
