Selena Gomez has a surprising new duet partner, and it ain’t her boy Justin Bieber, either. The ‘Hit the Lights’ singer is actually paired up with slain Tejana songbird Selena (Quintanilla Perez) on a new tribute album.

Gomez will sing along to Selena’s hit ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’ on ‘Enamorada De Ti,’ dedicated to the fallen star — who, we should add, bears a striking resemblance and even a similar vocal quality to Gomez’s BFF Demi Lovato. Gomez revealed to JustJared (via E! Online) just how excited she was about the project.

“I was completely honored when they asked me to be on the tribute CD and when I went into the studio to record they actually had her vocals in the booth that she was in, so I felt like she was singing right next to me,” she said. “It gave me chills! It was incredible and it was a great experience and it was a great song.”

Selena’s family were equally thrilled with having Gomez on the track. “She did an amazing job,” Selena’s brother, A.B. Quintanilla, told E! News about Gomez at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. “I had the opportunity to talk to her, we did some awards together and I had never met her before in person,” he said, “and I took the opportunity to go say hello to her. And I want to thank her for coming onto the album.” So sweet!

Quintanilla also revealed a little known fact about Ms. Gomez: she was named after the ‘Dreaming of You’ singer! “She was named after my sister. That’s pretty awesome,” Quintanilla said, “Selena with Selena. We want to thank all the Selena Gomez fans that have actually, they’ve been really, really at it just spreading the word. Hard core fans.”
