Carly Rae Jepsen is making her Broadway debut in the role of Cinderella, taking over for Laura Osnes for 12 weeks as of Feb. 4. One person not stoked about CRJ stepping into the glass slippers and pumpkin carriage before midnight? Oh, just 'Modern Family' star Sarah Hyland.

Wait, so why does Hyland care? We're not sure. She was vocal about the 'Call Me Maybe'-singing, Canadian cutie assuming the role of Cindy, tweeting that she hoped for the best but is hesitant about the casting.

Did Hyland want the role? Did she hope her bestie Taylor Swift would get the part? We can't quite figure out where her disapproval came from, especially since she tweeted that her words did not maker her anti-Jepsen, although it sorta sounds like it.

Maybe the Cinderella story was her favorite as a child and she holds it near and dear and is therefore critical of whomever would play the part.

We love the adorbs CRJ and we love Hyland, who has the best doe eyes ever. Let's hope this drama doesn't become something more than it is. Even Hyland addressed such a notion in a fresh, 2014 tweet.
