Public Ice Skating Is Back at El Paso County Events Center
If you’re looking for something cool to do this weekend, public ice skating is back at the El Paso County Sierra Providence Events Center.
Lace-up, hit the ice, and spend a super-fun afternoon or evening gliding effortlessly (or shuffling awkwardly) across the ice in the indoor hockey arena where the Rhinos play.
How Much
The cost to skate is $15 per person, $14 for military.
You can bring your own skates, but if you don't own a pair, no worries, they got you. I'm told they have over 900 hundred pairs of skates ranging from toddler size 7 to adult size 15.
Skate Times and Days
Saturday, July 16: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, July 17: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The plan is to hold public skating sessions every weekend, but the times may change depending on scheduled events and activities. It’s best to consult the calendar before heading out.
How to Get There
The Sierra Providence Events Center is located at 4100 E. Paisano in the same parking lot as the El Paso County Coliseum (across the street from the El Paso Zoo).
It’s the home of the El Paso Rhinos, and the area’s largest and only indoor professional ice-skating rink.
Like all indoor rinks, no matter what the weather is like outside it’s always chilly indoors, so bring a jacket and a pair of gloves.
