With summer beginning, many will head to the Texas coast to beaches to cool off, and I don't blame y'all, summer in Texas can be brutal! But summer evenings in Texas can be beautiful and one great way to take advantage of the beautiful summer evenings is by kayaking at night. This is a fun and safe evening water excursion in LED lighted clear kayaks!

PaddleSMTX and Glow Row are just two of the different types of glow kayaking available in Texas and it looks like one great big party!

PaddleSMTX operates out of San Marcos- which I know plenty of El Pasoans who spend spring break and summers out there! And the views are stunning.

Glow Row operates in several locations on the Texas Gulf Coast like Corpus Christi, Port O'Connor, Port Aransas, North Padre Island and Rockport.

One of the most important questions that gets asked is "do I need to know how to kayak?" and luckily, the answer is no. The sessions start with a quick but very informative lesson on kayaking so you'll be set to go by the time your excursion starts!

You do however have to know how to swim, which sounds like an obvious one.

While it does seem like a fun, family activity, this sport is recommended for those 18 and up. And all you really need to bring with you is a swimsuit/active wear, water shoes, water for hydration and a cheerful attitude.

To plan your trip out, and to find out more check out the PaddleSMTX website and the GlowRow website.
