El Pasoans will have to deal with another set of street closures due to work being planned for the Carolina Bridge.

Starting on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists will encounter sidewalk and lane closures as utility work begins on the Carolina Bridge.

Traffic on Alameda Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the intersection with some turn lanes being restricted as well.

The lane closures will allow contractors to undertake utility relocations necessary for the reconstruction of the Carolina Drive Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and the Franklin Canal which is scheduled to begin in 2016.

Proper traffic control and temporary signage will be in place for the duration of the lane and sidewalk closures. All closures are expected to be re-opened by Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.
