This El Paso Flower Shop Gave Out Free Bouquets For National Girlfriends Day
Another day, another national holiday and this one lands on August 1st so not only are you having to worry about paying rent, but now you have to worry about buying a gift for whoever the national holiday is celebrating. Today, it’s your girlfriend!
National Girlfriends Day may sound like a romantic holiday all about your significant other, but it’s more than that! National Girlfriends Day is all about lifting each other up and honoring the special bond of sisterhood and friendship. So you can celebrate your best friend, sister, mom, whoever it is you call your best girlfriend! One local flower shop wanted to help locals celebrate the day with a simple and FREE gesture!
In celebration of National Girlfriends Day, local woman-owned flower shop Anita’s Flowers helped the community spread love and appreciation one flower bouquet at a time and El Pasoans showed up in full bloom!
On Friday, August 1st, Anita’s Flowers, located at 8838 Viscount Blvd., gave away complimentary flower bouquets to anyone who stopped by and mentioned the holiday. Whether it was for a best friend, sister, mom, or romantic partner, the bouquets served as a sweet reminder to celebrate the women who matter most.
Anita’s Flowers has been a part of the El Paso community for over 60 years. Originally founded by Anita herself, the legacy has been proudly carried on by the women in her family, making it not just woman-owned, but woman-powered across generations.
“We just wanted to do something simple, sweet, and meaningful,” said Belinda Miller, owner of Anita’s Flowers. “Sometimes a single bouquet can say what words can’t. The world could use more random acts of kindness, and we hoped this small gesture would do just that.”
The event brought smiles, sparked joy, and reminded locals just how meaningful a flower and a little love can be.
