UTEP’s Minerpalooza Is Back For Its 35th Year

El Paso, get ready to party like it’s 1990 because Minerpalooza is officially back for its 35th year and this years Minerpalooza promises to be bigger and better than ever!

This Friday, Sept. 5, from 6 p.m. to 11:45 p.m., Centennial Plaza is transforming into one giant Miner celebration, and everyone’s invited. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

The event will feature live music, games, food, drinks, and enough community spirit to light up the whole Sun City. Whether you’re a student, alum, or just down for a good time, Minerpalooza is the best end-of-summer bash and a great way to show your Miner spirit the day before the first home opening Game which is happening Saturday, September 6th.

35th Annnual UTEP Minerpalooza Music Lineup

• DJ Osonus: Expect dubstep, house, and techno that’ll shake Centennial Plaza.
• The Pie Sisters: Four powerhouse sisters serving R&B and soul realness.
• Luna Luna: Nostalgic synth-pop with indie-Latin flair.
• DJ Technotics: Local legend, local beats, local hype.
• Battle of the Bands: Texas Heart vs. Acrolein. One will win. Both will rock.

If you plan on taking your little ones, there will be plenty of fun for them as well! Pete’s Playground is back for the kiddos, while the 21+ crowd can sip at the beer and wine garden. 

This event is not only a way to bring all Miner fans together, it’s also a way for UTEP clubs and organizations to fundraise so your ticket purchases for games and activities actually help fund these UTEP student organizations. 

If you’re worried about parking, don’t be. There are plenty of lots and garages will be free for guests, but get there early to make sure you get a good spot!

And remember: CLEAR BAG POLICY! Yup, either leave your big purses or bags at home or grab a clear bag if you need to take in items because the clear bag policy will be enforced at this year’s Minerpalooza.
