People have been waiting and watching for Michael Strahan to take off into space from West Texas this week but it looks like we'll be waiting a few more days. Michael Strahan has been in the region while he trains to go up in the Blue Origin New Shepard.

The announcement was made back on November 23rd that the Good Morning America co-host would be blasting off into space with the Blue Origin crew. This is the third human flight for the Blue Origin's New Shepard and Strahan began training for the trip before the announcement was made.

Strahan has also been in Van Horn for a few days at astronaut village, where he's been training for his space flight. Unfortunately, even though the crew and team on the ground in Van Horn are ready to launch, the flight has been postponed until the weekend.

According to Good Morning America, Blue origin released a statement this morning announcing that there were weather delays in effect:

"Due to forecasted winds on Thursday, December 9 and Friday, December 10, the New Shepard launch team has made the call to delay the launch of NS-19 to Saturday, December 11. Liftoff from Launch Site One is targeted for 8:45am CST / 14:45 UTC."

Astronauts will still continue their training and complete the necessary requirements today. From there, it's just a waiting game until they are ready and able to take off into the heavens.
