One of the most successful high school football coaches in El Paso's history is retiring, but it is under a cloud of suspicion.

Chuck Veliz coached high school football for 30 years, 14 of them at Montwood High School in the Socorro Independent School District, and at Del Valle for four years. He won 134 games during his career at both schools. Five days ago, SISD finalized an investigation into the way Veliz accounted for fundraising money. Last July, parents complained to the district that some of Veliz's accounting was not clear.

SISD officials said their investigation showed that, "There were some findings that the systems weren't followed as they should've been." The district said they took appropriate measures, but wouldn't say what those were.

Coach Veliz's last day at Montwood will be March 31st.
