Local Art Gallery Opening This Friday With Burning Art Effigy
A new art gallery is celebrating its soft opening this weekend with an outdoor one-of-a-kind burning art effigy.
This weekend, join Casa Ortiz for their soft grand opening featuring art, live music and the burning of an art effigy.
Casa Ortiz is the newest art, studio, and gallery space in Socorro, TX, that houses some of the region's most talented artists.
For Last Thursdays, Casa Ortiz will open highlighting local artists, including printmaker Manuel Guerra of Horned Toad Prints.
The weekend celebration will continue at Casa Ortiz on Friday, from 1 to 9 p.m., where all artwork by resident artists such as Diego Robot, Gabriel Marquez, Nico Cooper, and Carla Padilla “Cee Dubb” will be on sale.
On Friday, art patrons are invited to meet the artist and participate in the art effigy burning created by local artist Brian Holt. Those in attendance can write down their grievance of the year and place it in the heart of the art installation for burning.
Apart from showcasing local artists and the burning art effigy, local musicians will also be performing from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., including Cruze, and @kross_831, and peach.creek_
