This weekend was Homecoming at UTEP.  The game was great.  The kettle corn was outstanding!  The lights in the stadium?  Well.......

This what the Sun Bowl usually looks like during a game....

But after most of the halftime Homecoming festivities, the lights suddenly went out and this is what the scene looked like...

The huge dark spot in the foreground is the field.  At the time, the whole UTEP marching band, Homecoming Court, and assorted other people were on the fiel.  The press box is the only thing lit up in the picture.  The good thing is, no one panicked.  Everyone kept their seats and the lights came back on 15 minutes later.  But a huge pat on the back should go to the UTEP band.  They distracted everyone by playing throughout the 15 minute wait.  People might have gotten a little antsy, but those guys played their guts out and kept things light.

Congratulations to the UTEP band and the spirit they showed in keeping everyone smiling with their music!  And congratulations to the UTEP football team for their win Saturday night!
