Kelloggs Renews Sponsorship with Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl
As college football navigates to an expanded playoff later this year, the Tony Tiger Sun Bowl received some good news this morning. The Sun Bowl Association and WK Kellogg Co agreed to two more years of sponsorship with the option to sign for tan additional two years after the 2025 game.
"We are thrilled to continue to partner with the Sun Bowl Association and appreciate everything the organization does for the city of El Paso," said Doug VanDeVelde, Chief Growth Officer, WK Kellogg in the official release. "This is a highlight of the year for us and we look forward to growing our relationship to bring more amazing games and traditions to fans in El Paso."
"We are all very excited to be able to come to an agreement and renew our relationship with WK Kellogg Co," said Sun Bowl Association Executive Director Bernie Olivas in the official release. "This sponsorship renewal highlights the growing partnership between Kellogg’s and the Sun Bowl Association, showcasing our mutual commitment to delivering an unforgettable experience for college football fans each year."
Despite the Pac 12 falling apart and the majority of its members now in the Big 10 and Big 12 conferences, the game will continue to feature the same matchup as it has in prior years. The former Pac 12 teams who have changed conferences will still be eligible to play in the Tony The Tiger Sun Bowl as long as they have qualified for the postseason and they did are not in the bowl playoff. Oregon State and Washington State will also be eligible to play in El Paso, even though they are playing a conference style schedule against Mountain West opponents. Their opponent will continue to be from the ACC.
This year's game will be played on December 31st at noon and it will be nationally televised on CBS. Although the Sun Bowl Association and their network partner have not yet released details of their future plans to broadcast the bowl game, that announcement could be coming soon.
