The Best (And Worst) National Anthem Performances in Texas

At the 2024 MLB All Star Game in Arlington, the state of Texas & the world saw what could possibly be considered one of the...let's call it "intriguing" performances of the National Anthem done by Ingrid Andress. It has been talked about all over the internet & the news, which you can read about it here.

This wasn't the first time Texas has seen a rough performance of the National Anthem. One that's considered the worst was when Christina Aguilera performed at Super Bowl XLV at AT&T Stadium. We can't put it here but you can watch it for yourself here.

Those were quite rough around the edges. So to make up for what we heard, how about we hear some GOOD performances of the National Anthem IN Texas?

Charley Pride (Super Bowl VIII)

Charley Pride was known as a famous baseball player, but he's one known as one of the world's first black country superstar. He performed at Super Bowl VIII at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas. You can watch his Super Bowl performance here (even though the quality isn't the greatest). He also said a close relationship with the Texas Rangers baseball & you can see him sing for the team in the video down below.

Beyoncé (Super Bowl XXXVIII)

The very next year, another amazing Texas artist would perform the National Anthem, this time at Super Bowl XXXVIII. Fans of the New England Patriots play the Carolina Panthers in Houston, Texas. Fans also saw the hometown Queen Bee perform an amazing rendition of the National Anthem, which you can watch here.

The Chicks from Dallas, Texas performed at Super Bowl XXXVII, Fort Worth's Kelly Clarkson at Super Bowl XLVI, & Pentatonix at the 2023 College Football National Championship between the TCU Horned Frogs & the Georgia Bulldogs.

The National Anthem is NOT an easy song to sing so there's a good chance Texas will see some good versions and...well not so good ones in the future.
