One Of The Worlds Largest Rock Fests Is In Texas
There are some HUGE rock music festivals happening all over the USA and throughout the world. Did you know one of the biggest, worldwide, happens in Texas?
Texas is home to a huge and varied music scene with all different genres well represented and a ton of live music venues, settings and festivals. One of the "rock" music festivals held in Texas is among the world's 20 largest in terms of attendance.
Even though its name would make it seem like it's not too big of a deal - the "So What" Music Fest absolutely IS a big deal and ranks among the 20 biggest rock music festivals in the world, coming in at #19.
The So What Music Fest happens annually, (usually in June), at the Panther Island Pavillon in Fort Worth, Texas. It appears that 2025 may be a "bye" year though as the only dates I was able to find seem to indicate there won't be another one until 2026.

The So What Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2024 and the Panther Island Pavilion website shows no upcoming date.

Who Has Played So What?
The last So What Festival, in 2024, featured Asking Alexandria, POD, Bad Wolves, Skillet and a f***load more. Check out the full lineup here and see some photos here.
Another big 'un for Texas is the Austin City Limits Music Festival. It's spread over multiple weekends which, I guess, is why it's not listed among the biggest in the world. With a combined attendance of around 450,000, it would be #5 on the list of the biggest in the world but it's not there for some reason. That may be because the festival is not ALL rock.
It takes place at Zilker Park in Austin every October. Past headliners include The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, and Jack White.
