A recent poll ranked the best 27 bars in the United States of America and both Texas and Arizona have places that made the list.

USA Today just listed the best-est bars in the entire United States of America and, not surprisingly, a Texas bar made the cut as did 2 in Arizona.

As hot as Texas and Arizona get during summer, is anyone surprised that we put a lot of thought into our bars?

USA Today has a huge number of food and drink writers scattered all over the country and they used them to compile their first ever best bars list. It's based on their writers own experiences living and drinking in their own cities, not briefly visiting other places.

Which Texas Bar Made The USA Today List?

The Texas representative is the Sahara Lounge, located at 1413 Webberville Road in Austin, Texas. Call 512-927-0700 for more info or visit their website. They were described by USA Today as being:

... at the heart of a community that still represents Austin at its best: funky, soulful, eclectic and diverse.

Which Arizona Bars Made The USA Today List?

Arizona had 2 in the top 27. Up first ... literally and figuratively ... was Barcoa Agaveria at 829 N. First Ave in Phoenix.

Number 2, also literally and figuratively, was the Boycott Bar. It's also in Phoenix at 4301 N. Seventh Ave. According to USA Today:

... it’s become a Phoenix staple for karaoke, sip-and-paint classes, themed dance parties and a place just to have a drink in a lively watering hole where all are welcome.
