
This New Mexico Base Is First On The List For A Nuclear Strike
It may not be the actual numero uno but an air force base in New Mexico is a "first strike" target in the event of a nuclear attack on the USA.
New Mexico is home to several US Air Force bases and one of them is pretty damn close to El Paso.
Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, (about 90 miles from El Paso), and Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque. White Sands Missile Range, (about 60 miles from El Paso), is also named as an air force base in this article.

What New Mexico Air Force Base Is Likely To Be Hit First?
Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque stores and delivers nuclear weapons, making them a prime first round target. Kirtland's website says the base "synchronizes all aspects of nuclear materiel management on behalf of the AFMC commander in direct support of Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC)."
