September 15th is 915 Day. Literally and figuratively as that date is also El Paso's area code, (915), and a great day to celebrate the fabled west Texas town if El Paso.

El Paso has many nicknames ... "The Pass", "El Chuco", "Chuco Town", "The 915", and, of course, the "west Texas town of El Paso".

You can thank Marty Robbins for that one and for the UTEP fight song as well.

Really ... listen to "El Paso" and then listen to the UTEP fight song. Whoever wrote UTEP's fight song just sped up the "El Paso" melody.

Cool El Paso People, Places And Things

As a biker, I love the fact El Paso's weather allows for year round riding. The only time I really pass on riding is during El Paso's insane windy season. One of my favorite rides is over the mountain.

Speaking of wind and weather, we have set some pretty crazy records here. On the whole though, it's pretty much always sunny and nice here.

Famous El Paso Peeps

Rockers Pissing Razors proudly call El Chuco home, as do Disturbed bassist John Moyer, the drummers for Escape The Fate, (Robert Ortiz), Kyng, (Pepe Clark) and Social Distortion, (Charlie Quintana) and many, many more. (Including most of Ministry.) Outside the rock genre, you can thank the 915 for Khalid and Krystal Poppin.

Other Big Names From El Paso

Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and Landman actress Paulina Chavez just to name a couple of tv stars along with journalist Sam Donaldson, Congressman Sylvestre Reyes, and several athletes including Aaron Jones who flashes a 915 hand gesture almost every time he scores.

El Paso Offers Lots To See, Do And Eat

Franklin Mountains State Park is the largest municipal park in The USA and we have a ton of other attractions like Western Playland, Wet 'N Wild Waterworld, Top Golf, Swerve and more.

Just as El Paso's music and arts scene has really taken off in the past few years, so has the bar/restaurant industry. From Mom n Pop burger joints to locally owned restaurants like Rib Hut and Sazon by Chef Rulis, we're loaded food-wise.

At Sazon, diners can get a history lesson along with their meal as Chef Rulis not only studied how to make great dishes in different cuisines but also where they come from.
