The show Survivor has been on television for the last 25+ years. Over 40 season, many contestants have tried to win on the show & that includes contestants from El Paso, Texas. However the first one to appear was not in 2022 but 20 years earlier in 2002. A man named John F Carroll would be the first El Paso native to do it.

John F Carroll was born in El Paso?

Yes he is. According to his official Survivor biography on CBS, while most of his information talks about him being raised & growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, the first line says that he was indeed born in El Paso, Texas. While there's not a lot of information of his early life IN El Paso; there IS plenty information on his appearance during season 4 of Survivor called Survivor: Marquesas. From watching him on the show, he was a tough competitor and the others knew it.

Did John F Carroll win on Survivor: Marquesas?

Fans of the show will remember seeing that John did NOT win on season 4 of Survivor. He lasted 'til about the halfway point; he was the 8th cast member voted off the show on Day 24.

Even 20 years after this show, supporters for John have not dwindled. There's actually a Facebook group called Bring Back John Carroll who want him to appear again on the Survivor tv show.

Where is John F Carroll now?

He still lives in Nebraska; he's active on his Instagram page called That John Carroll (obviously to let people know that this is the real John Carroll). Today he runs the Willow Valley Farms in Gretna, Nebraska.

Today he still talks about his time on Survivor. Even in 2021 he appeared as a guest on the Couch Potato Queens YouTube channel, where he talked all about his experience on Survivor.

Of course Survivor would see another El Paso native

If you saw the 43rd season of Survivor, you're fully aware of Ryan Medrano: the next contestant that was born in El Paso, Texas to appear on Survivor, 20 years later.

Sadly Ryan would also be voted off during the show; he was the 10th one on Day 17. But not before impressing his fellow Survivors.

Let's hope to see another El Paso native appear on Survivor & here's to hoping whoever that is; they win it all.
