Killing Deer In Texas? Better Know This New Law

As crazy as it sounds, all over Texas, people are stalking and killing the deer in their area and now there's a new law related to it.

Don't panic, crazed deer haters aren't combing the lone star state trying to take out Bambi. At least no more than usual ... it's deer hunting season in Texas so no need to freak out over this. The new law doesn't have to do with the hunt itself but with what happens afterward.

This season the deer population in Texas is expected to be very high. Hunting is not only a means for some to feed their families or supply restaurants and other food stocks such as local food pantry's, it's also a way to regulate the population.

What is Texas' New Law For Deer Hunters?

Deer hunters may now debone their kills onsite as long as they keep "proof of sex", (gender of the animal, cochino), and their tags. Not bringing the body to another site should keep Chronic Wasting Disease from spreading to other parts of Texas.

Yes, there are (some) deer in the El Paso area and yes, you can hunt them through December. Be sure you have all permits and follow all hunting and private property laws.
