COPS El Paso, Texas Edition: How Many Episodes Did We Star In?
Ah yes, the state of Texas certainly was the star in many episodes of the reality television show, COPS. Just one look at the title card & you already have the theme song stuck in your head.
When the show was very popular in the 90s, El Paso, Texas actually made many appearances on the hit show.
How many episodes of COPS featured El Paso, Texas?
All you need to do is look back at the early seasons & that's where you'll find where the Sun City became the star of Cops. The first time Texas was featured was back in 1991 (Houston, Harris County).
But it wasn't until 1993, 30 years ago, is where El Paso finally made its debut appearance during Season 6; Episode 9 was titled "El Paso 1"; the El Paso Police Department break up a fight on the El Paso Bridge of the Americas, investigate a murder at Concordia Cemetery & a police chase on Loop 375.
Yes... "El Paso 1". Which means there were more. 6 MORE episodes during that whole season in 1993 & 1994. Every episode contains various incidents that have happened around El Paso. For example Episode 6 shows the Border Patrol capturing people smuggling drugs & sneaking across the Border & Episode 7 shows the EPPD respond to a stabbing in Northeast El Paso.
And in case you're wondering yes... you can find the episodes on YouTube. So if you want to relive what El Paso looked like in the early 90s again, you can find all the episodes down below.
"El Paso 2"
"El Paso 3"
"El Paso 4"
"El Paso 5"
"El Paso 6"
and "El Paso 7"
This wouldn't be the only time El Paso would appear on a reality show featuring police; fans of Live PD are fully aware that El Paso has been featured on that show too since Season 2. We've been shown so many times on Live PD on A&E, some people have even made playlists of all our time in spotlight containing all the clips that have been made available on YouTube.
Just another reminder that El Paso HAS been featured on television for many years; sometimes showing the best (and the not so good) of the city.
