Anyone who follows Monster Jam knows about the Super Bowl of monster trucks: The World Finals. This year it was held at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, aka the home of the Tennessee Titans. We've seen Texas monster truck drivers succeed in the world of monster trucks; some would win in the past for the Monster Jam World Finals. This past weekend we saw not one, but TWO Texas champions be crowded at the World Finals: Tristian England from Paris, Texas & Colt Stephens from Houston, Texas.

Our first Texas champion was crowned during the Racing competition

Every year the competition gets tougher & tougher. This year however would not be too difficult for Tristian London, the driver of EarthShaker. Thoruhgout the racing tournament he would beat Todd LeDuc in Megalodon, Cole Venard in The Black Pearl, & Brandon Vinson in Grave Digger, before facing against Camden Murphy in Bakugan Dragonoid in the finals. This would be Tristan's first World Finals Racing championship in his career.

You can see that winning run from Monster Jam's official Instagram page.

Colt Stephens would win the Freestyle Championship in 2023

Houston native Colt Stephens, son of legendary driver Tom Meents, was driving the ThunderROARus in Nashville for the World Finals. He would be the 20th truck to hit the field & he would score an 8.608. You can see his entire run as seen from the crowd down below.

After his run, 4 more trucks would attempt to top him: Grave Digger, Bakugan Dragonoid, Max-D & Sonuva Digger would be the final truck of the night. Each one would fall just short which meant that Colt Stephens would also become a first time Monster Jam World Finals Freestyle champion.

This was a great night for Texas monster truck drivers as both Tristan & Colt would each win the main competitions at the World Finals; the last a Texas driver won at the World Finals was El Paso's Linsey Read in 2019 when she became a Freestyle champion.

Congrats to both drivers for winning in Nashville; here's to more championships in the future.
