White Castle Finally Brings Its Sliders To Texas In 2026
While living in Midland-Odessa, you have several great options for a delicious hamburger. There are local establishments, such as Keith's Hamburger Station and Texas Burger, as well as larger national franchises like Wendy's, Burger King, and, of course, Whataburger.

The Famous White Castle
Despite living in Texas, it's likely you know of the White Castle brand. The famous 2x2 slider hamburgers covered in cooked onions became a hit in the 1940s and have been serving up White Castle goodness ever since. Currently, the franchise is spread out in 14 states. However, its presence on the west side of the Mississippi River has been nonexistent. That is, until now.
White Castle Coming To Texas
Earlier this week, it was announced that White Castle is set to make its debut in Texas. The announcement, which gained popularity on social media, features an amusing video of an old-fashioned messenger reading the news from a scroll, as if he were proclaiming the arrival of a king in medieval times.

The state’s population growth and cultural diversity made it a natural next step. “Cravers everywhere have been telling us Texas is a crave-worthy place to grow,” -White Castle VP Jamie Richardson

What Happens Now?
For now, all we really can do is wait. It is almost a sure guarantee that this restaurant will be massively successful. It is likely the brand will see similar success that competitor In-N-Out did when it entered the Texas market. Hopefully, this encourages the company to aggressively expand in Texas, and with any hope, one day we'll see one in Midland-Odessa.
