Incredible Journey: 13-Year-Old Sworn In by Williamson County Sheriffs
Williamson County - Something special happened recently when the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office held a special swearing-in ceremony for a unique recruit.
Sworn In as an Honorary Deputy
Dressed in an official deputy uniform, surrounded by numerous deputies, officers, and officials from excitement around Williamson County, 13-year-old DJ Daniel, was sworn in as an honorary police officer. DJ has been fighting cancer for seven years with unyielding bravery at just the age of 13, and he continues to wake up every day with unwavering bravery, a smile, and a sense of humor that erupts wherever he is.
A Collection of Courage: Badges Across the Nation 🇺🇸 From Local Hero to National Recognition
DJ has channeled his childhood dream of becoming a police officer into several trips across the nation, and he has been welcomed and sworn in by hundreds of various law enforcement agencies. From the Waco Police Department and the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson Country has joined the ranks ensuring that DJ has a badge collection that is an astonishing, and almost poetic, testimony of what may be possible if you never give up.
Community and Shared Strength
DJ was even honored when he was recognized during Trump's first speech to Congress after getting re-elected. A great showcase to highlight how far and wide DJ’s story has traveled during his journey.
A Light in a Heavy World
Every ceremony that DJ attends isn’t solely a representation celebrating his bravery, but it is also a representation of shared strength and community. In a world that can feel heavy sometimes, DJ Daniel is like the light at the end of the tunnel, demonstrating that heroes come in all sizes, even 13-year-olds with a badge.
