It has always been said, "Everything is Bigger in Texas." While that is true for most things, downsizing is becoming increasingly popular, especially in real estate. Canyon is no stranger to growth, and something new is coming to the city when it comes to homes.

Clifton Builders is bringing a new community to Canyon called Clifton Ridge. This community will be a charming new neighborhood just down the way from the Canyon Country Club. What will set it apart from neighborhoods in town is that some of the homes won't be massive; they will be smaller.

This smaller home development will feature homes starting at 1,000 sq ft. So, not exactly a tiny home, but a smaller type of living than most conventional homes.

What Will This New Canyon Neighborhood Offer?

The smaller home community includes two multifamily lots, and each of those lots will have 12 of the smaller homes. The style of these homes will be Modern farmhouse, conventional Barndominium‑industrial, and elevated container homes..

How Much Will These Smaller Homes Cost?

Most of these smaller homes will be 3/2/2 or 2/2/2 and start at $170 per sq ft and come in under $200,000. This multifamily addition will be included in a condominium association since the community will share a well and septic system, and other community features.

The Clifton Ridge community in Canyon will also comprise regular-sized homes, but there is an option for smaller homes.

Who Are These Smaller Homes Perfect For?

These smaller homes are ideal for first-time homebuyers and those who no longer have a large family living at home. These days, more and more people want to live as minimally as possible and don't require the big homes that they once lived in. This is a great alternative for a place to live in a beautiful neighborhood.

The small home section will include 24 homes in a multifamily area, and if the interest in these small homes outgrows the area for the 24 homes, there is room for expansion.

What Other Options are Available for Clifton Ridge?

The larger part of Clifton Ridge will include single-family 1 to 2-acre plots, and these homes start at under $330k.

What Utilities Will Be Available?

According to the Clifton Ridge website, the utilities are put underground, and the electricity will be Xcel Energy. The phone/internet/fiber optics will be through Mid-Plains Rural Telephone. If gas is required in your home, you will need to provide propane. As for water, homeowners are responsible for their well and septic system.
