According to WRTV on July 9, 2024, a standoff occurrred in Pearsall, Texas. This small town positioned Southwest of San Antonio was at the center of the police action that involved three children from Indianapolis and their noncustodial parents.
The kids' grandfather had custody, and a legal meet-up with the children's biological parents on the 4th of July ended in the abduction. The grandfather went to the restroom during the visit, and the entire family was gone upon his return.
Children Removed From Home Due To Medical Neglect
The 4, 3, and 1-year-olds were found safe after Texas DPS obtained the parent's phone numbers from their DCS case manager. They were located by a ping from the device that showed they were in Pearsall.
Local police found the family vehicle notified DPS and the FBI, and evacuated the motel. The father of the children left the motel around 3 p.m.
When police attempted to pull him over he led them on a short pursuit. Things stayed peaceful; both parents were arrested, and the children were fine.
