Tacoctoberfest: 31 Days, 31 Lubbock Taco Stops

Okay, we're a few days late on this, but we're going to make it happen.

The event is Tacotoberfest. It's 31 days of tacos. Since we're getting started a few days late, you're just going to have to double up on tacos for a couple of days. I was able to compile a list of 48 places, so if one or more of your choices happens to be closed on any particular day, you've got plenty more to choose from.

So where do I go for tacos? There are two kinds I really enjoy. If I want authentic tacos, I go to Jimenez Y Friends. If I want more of a basic taco, then I get the giant taco platters from Rosa's. I'm sure there are hundreds more great tacos out there, so maybe you'll find your favorite — or discover a new favorite — somewhere on this list.

Is that not enough for you?

My friends also swear by a number of local food trucks, including El Rico and Mi Kocina, but since food trucks can move around, I can't really help you much with a permanent location there.

Remember to hit Facebook or Google before heading out to some of the lesser-known places. We do seem to have a pretty high turnover with restaurants in Lubbock, and hours and locations can change.

Now get out there and make up for those missed Tacoctoberfest days.
