Everyone Has Beef With At Least One Lubbock Business
There are a couple of places in this town that I simply will not enter.
Not because I've been banned. Not because they are inherently bad. And not because there's some kind of horrifying backstory involving the cops.
I just don't like them.
That's all.
Maybe it's the building. Maybe it's the parking situation. Maybe it's the lighting, the smell, the employees, or some unexplainable vibe that has caused my brain to declare, "Hell no. Anywhere else."
I know I'm not the only one.
We've all got a spot or two we wouldn't visit, period, unless we'd just eaten a habanero and they happened to be the nearest water source.
Maybe you had a bad experience. An employee followed you around a little too closely and made you feel weird, or maybe nobody offered to help. Or maybe the prices offended you to the point of pearl-clutching.
But, even so...
None of that has ever inspired me to write a nasty review online.
Not once.
Did you know that you can totally hate a business that other people love?
Yep. It's a thing.
You can quietly hate a Lubbock business and still let other people enjoy it.
You don't have to leave a negative review, post about it online, or scream it from the rooftops.

Instead, you could cut them some slack.
One bad review can really tank a place that's already struggling.
If a restaurant or store is truly a bad place, people will eventually stop going.
Bad businesses crash, burn, and close down without your help just fine.
I promise.
Negativity on the internet is at an all-time high. Why not post about the places you love instead? You can focus on building up your favorite spots instead of complaining about the ones that don't suit you.
If they suck, just don't visit them. That's quite enough.
But those bad reviews make it really hard for an otherwise great establishment to redeem itself after a mishap. Mistakes happen. We are all only human.
That's just my two cents.
Remember, the majority of people who leave reviews ONLY leave negative reviews. People aren't as quick to give a good review as they are to tear a place apart after finding a hair in their enchiladas.
If they keep it up, they'll be closed down eventually, without your negative review. Give them a chance to correct themselves for future customers.
It's perfectly acceptable to let a place crash and burn on its own.
