It’s not very long until kids in Texas are going to be kicking off their summer break from the classroom. The students have been working all year and now get to take some time off, the teachers are getting a well-deserved break too. But that means parents all over Texas are going to be putting their kids in summer programs or finding childcare. But we have some ideas on how you can avoid hearing those dreaded words, “I’m bored.”

Summertime when I was growing up meant my parents were working all day, but I was fortunate to have 4 siblings who were always playing sports or video games or something to stay entertained all day. And then of course we would scramble to clean up before our parents got home. But every family situation is a little different and we have some ideas on how to keep the kids busy and having fun this summer. 

Limit the Screen Time This Summer 

There is going to be plenty of time to stare at a screen, try to limit the screen time this summer and enjoy all that Texas has to offer. Even if your kids or teenagers act like they don’t want to do anything or go anywhere, they will enjoy many of the activities listed below.
