As Texans, one thing we all thoroughly enjoy -- or most of us anyway -- is an ice-cold beer. If it's enjoyed on a nice, warm day with good company, even better!

A lot of the people I've met in Texas have a particular brand of beer they will stand by indefinitely, always defending that it's the best. But I don't want to talk about those common, although good, beer brands. I want to talk about unique craft beers.

What makes craft beer better (in my opinion)

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of the most commonly known beers -- they all taste kinda blah to me. To the point that I just thought I didn't like beer. But it turns out I'd rather have a craft beer. Call me girly, or say I'm not drinking real beer, but I do enjoy the occasional beer and lemonade mixture too.

But it's really the unique flavors of craft beers that I like the most. If you want something a little fruity, sour, or just a normal really good beer, they're likely to have it. There's more experimenting with flavors, giving consumers variety, and I love seeing that.

Like most things, not all craft beer will be the best

Everyone has their preferred taste, and no doubt some will not like a beer someone else does. And that's okay because there's plenty to choose from!

However, stacker did do the work of compiling a list of some of the best craft beers in Texas using ratings from Beer Advocate. I have to say, where I live in Tyler, Texas, there are a couple of great breweries nowhere on the list. In fact, most are from breweries in larger cities, so if you don't see your favorite here, just know that it probably does have the potential to be on the list.

Without further adue, here are some of the best beers you can find in Texas:
