That means that approximately 14.2 million tickets are left in circulation. So, instead of a 1 in 2.1 million chance of winning $100,000 with this ticket, you now have a 1 in 1.7 million chance of winning one of the top prizes.

Yeah, I know, not much hope of winning the big prize. But, keep this in mind. If you were given the choice of buying a scratch-off ticket with very, very, very little chance of winning the top prize or a ticket with very, very little chance of winning big, wouldn't you choose the ticket that gives you a little more hope to win?

So yes, the data crunching truly does move the dial in your favor, but only very, very little. Your chance of winning a grand prize payout remains microscopically small, but if you can increase your odds by a hundredth or a thousandth of a decimal point...why not?
