If you remember the late 1980s, we learned a new Russian word: PERESTROIKA

Wikipedia explains perestroika was "a political reform movement within the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) during the late 1980s widely associated with...Mikhail Gorbachev and his glasnost (meaning "transparency") policy reform."

With the dismantling of the USSR, it seemed like the world was becoming a more peaceful place. That is, until an old KGB guy, Vladimir Putin, and his cronies assumed command of Russia. Then in February of 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and the years of goodwill became a memory.

Putin's State of the Union Address and the Potential Impact on Arizona

According to US News, Vladimir Putin gave the Russian State of the Union address last week. He accused the United States of provoking conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and other regions, and warned against sending NATO military forces to Ukraine.

"There has been talk about the possibility of sending NATO military contingents to Ukraine," Putin said, adding, "...the consequences...will be ... tragic."
